1. How does tribal differ from other forms of bellydancing? What are it's distinctive qualities?
For me the basic movements are the same as other forms of bellydancing, but there is a definitely different aesthetic to the dance.
A slower tempo and greater emphasis on the definition of movements, less glitzy.

What is Tribal Fusion? The short answer........

Tribal Fusion bellydance is an american variation of Bellydance.  With the utmost respect for Bellydance in its original form the tribal dancer combines movements and music from other dance forms and cultures to creat a dance that is uniquely her own.  Ther costumes reflect their individuality and the cultures from which they borrow their moves or music. The music that moves them is modern or ancient, fluid or percussive.
