To state that I enjoy my dancing, could definitely be considered euphemistic. To put it more succinctly: I'm having the most fun I've had for centuries!

1. How does tribal differ from other forms of bellydancing? What are it's distinctive qualities?
For me the basic movements are the same as other forms of bellydancing, but there is a definitely different aesthetic to the dance.
A slower tempo and greater emphasis on the definition of movements, less glitzy.

Release your inner Bling Addict

Tribal Bellydancing is the most amazing and enjoyable experience. The best part is that any person no matter who you are or what you look like can join in this wonderful activity not only is it an enjoyable way to get excersise but to bring out the "bling" side of your personality.  Im very glad to have been exposed to such an entertaining activity.

Preggy Belly - a students perspective

Having done Tribal Bellydance made for much easier labour, I think because of the pelvic floor exercises and the soothing figure 8's during contractions.  I would also recommend it as a good form of excersise when you're pregnant becasue it's relatively low impact,  puts no stress on the baby and makes you feel healthy!  And - something that often flies out the windo when youre preggies - sensual!
